Welcome to the new LASTFIRE website - www.lastfire.co.uk

LASTFIRE has moved from the Co-ordinator's own website. From now on, all updates and news will be posted here inside the Members area.

Participating company Steering Group members will be notified of the correct username and password to access the Members Area. If you have an interest in storage tank Fire Hazard Management (FHM) and you are from one of the LASTFIRE member companies (see company logos above), please obtain the user credentials from your Steering Group member.

Presentations - Confidentiality

Presentations from the last meeting will be posted to the Members area. Only users with the correct credentials will be allowed to access the files. The LASTFIRE Co-ordinators make every effort to post the presentations shown at the LASTFIRE meetings. However, occasionally speakers request that presentations or parts of presentations are not uploaded. Due to this, some presentations may appear edited for website use or not feature at all. The LASTFIRE Co-ordinators would therefore request that Steering Panel members contact the speakers directly to request full presentations if required.

It should be noted that presentations are posted here on the understanding that they will not be made freely available outside the LASTFIRE Group. Every effort is made to ensure that the presentations (along with other LASTFIRE deliverables) are kept confidential within the LASTFIRE organisation.

Please contact LASTFIRE Admin if you are aware of any activity or issue that compromises this aim.

LASTFIRE Incident Database

The LASTFIRE Incident database has been updated in 2010. Also, the scope of LASTFIRE has been expanded to include pressurised storage (e.g. LPG) in the database. Consequently, a new questionnaire has been developed that will include sections for reporting on pressurised tank types, contents and numbers at facilities.

The data that is collected by the LASTFIRE Co-ordinators is always kept confidential and is used to develop the Incident Database for the year in which the statistics are collected. The accuracy of the database is very much dependent on member companies providing sufficient data for the period. Consequently the LASTFIRE Co-ordinators would like to remind participants that (apart from being a contractual requirement), data is needed in good time before the end of the year so that the survey / report can be updated.

The questionnaire will be distributed through individual company Steering Panel members. An email will be sent with the questionnaire itself along with instructions for completion. If you are from a Member company site and you have been asked to fill in the questionnaire, please be assured that the information given is very valuable to LASTFIRE and we appreciate your efforts!

The LASTFIRE incident database represents the largest known statistical survey of tank populations, failure modes and incidents and is a valuable resource for anyone compiling QRAs or simply wishing to know more about the types of loss of containment and fire events that can occur. Consequently, its' success is highly dependent on the quality of data collected. The database is one of the key LASTFIRE deliverables and is available to LASTFIRE members only. If you have any questions regarding the database, please contact your Steering Panel member in the first instance.

Suggestions?

The success of LASTFIRE as an international Forum for storage tank Fire Hazard Management (FHM) depends on input from its' members! If you have a suggestion regarding what you would like to see here on the website then contact LASTFIRE Admin. Perhaps there are details of a new Risk Reduction measure (e.g. incident detection, fire protection, response equipment etc.) that would be of interest to other members that you would like to share. Alternatively, you may have experience of an incident that would benefit others. Details of video clips, incident reports and photographs or other relevant items are always of interest to the LASTFIRE Co-ordinators and members and so if you are aware of any, please let LASTFIRE Admin know and - providing they are suitable for posting - they could end up here on the website.

Please remember to keep suggestions related to atmospheric and pressurised storage tank FHM, however.

Communications

It should be noted that most communication regarding LASTFIRE will be undertaken by the normal email route - via Steering Panel members - but any other items of interest that can be made freely available will be posted inside the members area. The members area is username/password protected. The LASTFIRE Co-ordinators will notify - or have notified - Steering Panel members of the correct credentials to use. These will change on a regular basis and once again, notification will be made.
